While Simon Cowell is acting all immature, threatened and pressed, and as American Idol execs just couldn’t make up their minds who to put in the judges table, NBC’s 3rd installment of The Voice was greeted with a triumphant and successful pilot episode. Just by watching the Blind Auditions, I reckon that this season is going to be their best yet (reviews are already stellar). In addition, I see a lot of talented artists who have a promising career outside the competition. And in comparison to rival talent shows, The Voice just has the natural bravado of hipness that X Factor & American Idol ultimately try to achieve.

After watching the premier episode, I must say that De’Borah was the star of the night. Hearing her share her life on national tv and her experiences after coming “out”, I couldn’t help but be inspired and root for her. And with a talent to back up the charisma (I just told her she reminds me of Janelle Monae, and she humbly replied how huge honor it was), I definitely see why Cee-lo Green & Christina Aguilera turned their chairs for her. And boy was I glad that she picked Xtina. See, Ms. Aguilera has a penchant for unique artists, and her critiques are always spot on (after all she is THE VOICE of this generation) so I know that picking Xtina was  the perfect choice. Already a frontrunner and off to a good start, this is going to be a really good season for everyone in THE VOICE.
